Digital Media: In-Class Video

For this assignment we had to film at least 12 video clips that were a minimum of 20 seconds in length. The clips could tell a story or be completely unrelated.

At the beginning of class, we were asked to draw the name of another classmate. We then received the footage of that person and had to edit their footage instead of our own.

I drew Ashley Spangler’s name. Her footage wasn’t necessarily related. I chose to tell a story of “a day out”.

3D Composition: Group Instalation Project

Our group divided the work pretty evenly. Each of us cut out bricks and we all helped to assemble them on the wall. We also had individual pieces that we contributed. I made the street lamp for our project. We all helped in coming up with the idea for our project. The metaphor for our group is “play hard for your money”. Overall I think our group worked really well together. We all got along and everyone did their part. This was one of the most enjoyable group projects that I have been a part of. I had a lot of fun with this project.

In Progress: Cardboard Replica

I chose a bongo for my object. I’m making some parts hollow and some solid for stability. And I also wanted to play around with the different surface texture that can be made with the cardboard. The shape of my object makes it difficult to measureso most of it is guessing. I’m having fun with it so far. image image

3D Composition: Project # 2

For this project I chose to use a triangular cone shape. I really wanted to play around with size variation in this sculpture. I ended up making 15 different sizes. I chose to display repetition, continuity, and proximity in this piece. Overall I am extremely happy with the way this turned out. IMAG1554 IMAG1541 IMAG1542 IMAG1544 IMAG1545 IMAG1546 IMAG1550 IMAG1552

Project # 1

For my piece I chose to incorporate continuity, repetition, proximity, and closure. Overall I was very happy with my sculpture. I enjoyed working on this project. I think it was interesting to see how many different ways the same object can be used to create a completely different form.
